About the Role As Clinical Trials Administration Assistant you will join a dynamic and supportive team in leading the delivery of high-quality, community and patient-focussed clinical trials. The Clinical Trials Unit at Grampians Health Ballarat is a leading regional department with more than 70 clinical trials active across Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Haematology, Infectious Diseases, Medical Oncology and Neurology. These trials provide participants in our region with access to groundbreaking therapeutic treatments, underscoring our dedication to advancing medical knowledge and enhancing patient outcomes through rigorous research.
As administration assistant you play a vital role in the delivery of trial opportunities to our patients by undertaking a broad range of administrative activities to support the CTU.
This unique and varied role is suited to a proactive, organised and experienced administrator with the ability to navigate and cross-reference complex documentation. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a background/interest in clinical research.
This position offers flexible working hours and potential to work in a hybrid home/office model.
Specific duties include:
- Preparation and submission of research ethics and governance application documents
- Liaison with sponsors and external bodies regarding study requirements
- Oversight of participant visits – appointment bookings, trial documentation and kits, coordination of reimbursements
- Collect and enter data for registry trials and other research studies
- Oversight of departmental equipment servicing and maintenance and associated records

About the role 2 North specialises in Orthopaedic care, including same day joint replacement, trauma and elective surgery. The ward culture is very positive and team orientated. About the role
Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking a dynamic, energetic Nurse to work in the Anaesthetic Department to co-ordinate recruitment of patients to Clinical Trials and subsequent data management. This position will begin at 10 hours per week over 2 days, with the potential to increase to 20 hours per week over 3 days.
The role entails working in a team of research coordinators, as well as with Anaesthetic Consultants and Registrars to enhance work in Anaesthetic Clinical Trials at Grampians Health Ballarat. Current trials are conducted in conjunction with the ANZCA Clinical Trials network. Recruitment, follow-up and data management is required for each patient on the trials.
Previous experience in anaesthetic research is desirable, but not required, as training will be provided. Some flexibility in working hours may be required due to variation in times to recruit patients to the trials.

About the role Grampians Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker for the role of Grade 2 Children and Young Person Counsellor/Advocate at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault. This is a permanent role of up to 64 hours per fortnight.
Primary clinical responsibilities include trauma-informed therapeutic treatment of children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours; contribution to the after-hours roster.
Sound knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments, well developed communication skills and the ability to advocate and work collaboratively in the pursuit of client are required. Experience in working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family violence would be a highly regarded attribute.

The Deputy Manager Physiotherapy (West) will provide support and assistance to the Allied Health Manager Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology with the coordination, leadership and management of the Physiotherapy workforce and services within the Allied Health Directorate at the West campuses of Grampians Health.
Key Responsibilities
You will assist in the monitoring and allocation of resources for Physiotherapy across the West campuses; be responsible for leading, developing, supporting and mentoring the Physiotherapy workforce at the West campuses ensuring a high standard of service provision. The Deputy Manager Physiotherapy West supports the AHM Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology to enhance team building and excellence and provides a leadership role within the Grampians Health Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology leadership team and the Allied Health Leadership team at the West Campuses.
Skills and experience
You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current AHPRA registration.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the profession with extensive clinical experience and knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice.
- Post-graduate qualifications in clinical practice, leadership, management and/or research or working towards same
- Experience in health sector leadership, management or quality improvement, particularly in a public health service, and in leading an Allied Health service, program(s) or quality projects.
- Current Victorian Drivers licence

About the Role
Grampians Health will deliver a day stay and residential (homestay) service in a new purpose-built Early Parenting Centre in Lucas, Ballarat Victoria.
EPCs are dedicated facilities to support mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children up to four years of age. EPCs deliver a suite of core services through a nurse-led multidisciplinary care team.
High quality and safe EPC service delivery is best achieved through a workforce built on a:
- strong nursing leadership team, including Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses, that provides leadership and clinical oversight and support for the multidisciplinary clinical team; and
- collaborative multidisciplinary clinical team founded on a nursing backbone (MCH Nurses, registered nurses, registered midwives, enrolled nurses), complemented by allied health such as social workers and psychologists and other specialist staff such as Aboriginal heath care workers and General Practitioners.
The service will provide flexible targeted services including group sessions, day stay, 4-night stay program, outreach and telehealth targeted to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals.
Position Purpose
Under the delegation and supervision of the ANUM/AMUM or Maternal and Child Health Nurse, you will oversee and deliver routine care and education to families in the Grampians Health region based on the EPC’s model of care. You will work as part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team and with external organisations using strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to support best outcomes for mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children up to four years of age. You will promote positive health, growth, development and wellbeing in infants, children and families, and recognise and respond to factors that impede this.
The EPP works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based patient-centred care. As part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team, the EPP will work across all GEPC parenting programs required. These include day stay, home stay and outreach programs.
The program has a strong focus on family/child/patient-centred care and the EPP will demonstrate this along with the ability to work within our organisational values.
Key Responsibilities
Under the delegation and supervision of an MCH nurse, registered nurse or midwife provide clinical service to admitted families and implement the EPC model of care.
- Work as part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team to support parents to achieve their parenting goals.
- Maintain an understanding of parenting challenges and promote prevention, early intervention and help-seeking opportunities.
- Apply knowledge to practice independently and evaluate situations.
- Maintain awareness of scope of practice and exercise initiative to escalate concerns to an MCH nurse, registered nurse or midwife who has delegated care to you.
- Recognise and promote factors that contribute to connection to culture and community diversity and promote self-determination in decision-making.

About the role Grampians Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker for the role of Grade 2 Senior Intake Counsellor/Advocate at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault.
Primary clinical responsibilities include participating as a member of the CASA intake team in taking referrals, intake assessments, advocacy, safety planning and brief intervention counselling to people who have experienced sexual assault and their family members.
This role includes some oversight of the intake services and systems and support to junior staff and experience in supervision provision would be well regarded.
This role also entails participation in the CASA after-hours roster.
Sound knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments, well developed communication skills and the ability to work well in the pursuit of client and team needs and goals are required. Experience in working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family would be a highly regarded attribute.

Skills and experience
Psychologist:

Occupational Therapist:

Social Worker:

About the role
We are seeking an advanced Handyperson to join our professional Engineering team to provide general maintenance duties at both Horsham and Dimboola campuses of Grampians Health. This is a casual position is available for an immediate start and involves working a rotating roster including afternoon shift, weekends, public holidays and participation in an on-call roster.
This position involves conducting routine testing and maintenance of facilities and plant, including mechanical services equipment, and completing relevant sections of the essential safety measures program.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Mechanical aptitude with relevant experience in a similar environment
- Ability to prioritise and problem solve to work with varying and competing demands
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work in a flexible manner and perform on call and afternoon shift work
- Current Drivers licence
- Well-developed literacy and computer skills.
- Willingness to have additional training and skill development (includes electrical safety testing and boiler maintenance)
Desirable:
- Completed Apprenticeship in a Mechanical, Automotive or Building trade such as Fitting & Turning, Welding & Steel Construction, Automotive, Air-conditioning and/or experience in construction or general maintenance activities

Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee (RACP accredited) Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICCC) Grampians Health, Ballarat Fixed Term – Full Time (12-month contract)
About the role Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the position of a second Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee at Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre for 2024. This 12-month RACP-accredited training position will commence in February 2024. The successful candidate will gain a valuable and rewarding clinical experience in medical oncology at a regional cancer centre.
Our service currently employs five full-time medical oncologists, six visiting medical oncologists and four visiting haematologists. Our junior team consists of one medical oncology fellow, one oncology advanced trainee registrar, two basic physician trainee (BPT) medical registrars, and three Hospital Medical Officers (HMO). Of these, one BPT and one HMO position support haematology inpatient and outpatient services. All unit members participate in the after-hours roster. The two advanced trainees will participate in a roster to support outpatient clinics, oncology ward and inpatient consultative services, after-hours on-call and weekend rosters. The advanced trainee will also provide services to an outreach service and will have an excellent opportunity to gain experience in managing a wide array of oncology conditions in the rural-regional setting with one-to-one interaction with a supervising consultant. It is a fantastic opportunity to oversee the inpatient unit, providing teaching and guidance, all overseen by a cadre of senior and very supportive consultants.
In addition to the weekly journal club, the trainees will benefit from weekly teaching sessions by the consultant staff and protected time to attend the VMOTG Friday teaching sessions. The oncology unit at Ballarat works closely with all the clinical teams at Grampians Health, with regular Breast, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Urological, Thoracic, Neuro-oncology and Head and Neck multidisciplinary team meetings. We also have fortnightly oncology-radiology and oncology-pathology meetings. We have an excellent and dynamic clinical trial unit; the trainee will have an excellent opportunity to learn about various aspects of clinical trials. The trainee will also have full support to conduct or participate in a research project. There will be an opportunity to participate in the national and international oncology conferences.
We work closely with the radiation oncology unit (BAROC) and the palliative care team with an outstanding inpatient palliative care facility, “Gandarra”, situated nearby. A significant proportion of cancer care west of Melbourne utilizes our service, with a catchment population of over 350,000. We have a close affiliation with the Medical Oncology and Haematology Units at the Austin Hospital. We also provide teaching to medical students from both Melbourne and Deakin Universities.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide supervised outpatient services to Medical Oncology patients
- Contribute to enhancing the development of the Medical Oncology service
- Assist with the training and development of medical students and basic physician trainees
- Manage the inpatient ward with support of the junior team and with medical oncologist oversight
- Participate in the overnight and weekend on call roster
- Participate in combined and specialty multidisciplinary meetings held within the unit

About the role The position will include rotations in Acute Inpatients, Rehabilitation, and Outpatients. The Physiotherapy Department provides regular mentoring to new graduates, an Allied Health Early Careers Program, plus generous financial support for ongoing professional development. This position involves rotation between Acute Inpatients, Rehabilitation, Outpatients, and Outpatient Intervention Groups. Each of the rotations is approximately 3 months in duration. Mentoring is provided for each rotation, and a New Graduate Mentoring Program for Allied Health staff is provided.

As a Residential Services/Environmental Services Assistant, you will be an integral part of our caring team.
Key Responsibilities
Food Services:
- Maintain Food Safety Records.
- Set up kitchen and dining room for meal service.
- Prepare and serve meals to residents.
- Hand out and collect meal trays.
- Make and distribute tea/coffee and fluids to residents.
- Collect and wash fluid jugs and dishes used during meal service.
- Complete orders, cook/chill meals, and manage miscellaneous food supplies.
Cleaning Services:
- Mop floors as required.
- Vacuum according to the cleaning schedule.
- Collect and dispose of rubbish.
- Clean lockers and over bed tables in resident rooms.
- Clean bathrooms and toilets as needed.
- Spot clean and dust surfaces.
- Clean windows in common areas.
- Clean resident rooms and common areas according to the cleaning schedule.
- Launder resident clothing.
Skills and experience
- Follow Basic Food Safety Practices (HLTFSE001)
- Demonstrated person-centred care and respectful approach to patients, visitors and staff
- Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred, but is not essential

About the role The North Adult Community mental health team deliver a timely and consistent service to consumers/families/carers requiring mental health support, undertaking bio-psychosocial assessments and providing ongoing treatment in collaboration with the consumer, families and carers, the MDT, and other supportive agencies to achieve agreed goals and outcomes. Clinicians use a recovery framework, focusing on a strengths-based approach.
Senior community clinicians are required to work a rostered function covering weekends to facilitate urgent assessments and support to clients in their own homes, ED, medical wards and clients from youth and aged services. The duty function includes assessments over the telephone and medication management/support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence based and best practice clinical assessments, identify and prioritise clients’ needs and develop risk management plans.
- Attend Mental Health Tribunals and ensure consumers rights are met under the Mental Health Act 2022.
- Co-ordinate crisis assessments and admissions to mental health inpatients unit.
- Monitor physical health conditions and promote physical wellbeing.
- Monitor efficacy of medication
- Develop recovery plans in collaboration with consumers, families and carers, prioritise and action areas identified.
- Support clinicians, providing education and clinical supervision.
- Act as team leader in their absence.
Skills and experience
- Clinical experience in a range of mental health settings, including inpatient/community mental health.
- Well-developed mental health assessment skills
- Good knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2022 and other relevant legislation
- Good knowledge of the recovery model and how this informs engagement with consumers.

We are seeking dynamic candidates to join the team in an increasingly busy department. The department sees over 60,000 patients per year with approximately 25% paediatric presentation rate and a growing admission rate of 24-25%. A 12 bed Short Stay Unit is also managed by ED. The department has a culture of supervision and support for junior medical staff. This includes proactive training for HMO and Registrar groups, protected weekly training sessions, multi-disciplinary M&M and a responsive positive feedback program.
We are looking for doctors who have a team focus, exceptional communication skills and a desire to learn emergency medicine skills in a regional setting. The department places a high priority on patient centred care and a supportive team environment. Candidates will ideally have registration with ACEM and/or a strong interest in Emergency Medicine. At minimum, candidates will be required to have General Registration with APRHA.

Ballarat Health Services uses an electronic rostering system (RosterOn) which matches staff for shifts based on their availabilities, employee skills / qualifications and preference of location. Shifts are offered by text / phone call based on availabilities entered into RosterOn.

This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2016 - 2020. The classification is Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2 (NP21 - NP28) which ranges from $33.03 - $39.06 per hour
