About the role
Grampians Health will deliver a day stay and residential (home stay) service in a new purpose-built Early Parenting Centre in Lucas, Ballarat Victoria.
EPCs are dedicated facilities to support mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children up to four years of age. EPCs deliver a suite of core services through a nurse-led multidisciplinary care team.
High quality and safe EPC service delivery is best achieved through a workforce built on a:
- strong nursing leadership team, including Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses, that provides leadership and clinical oversight and support for the multidisciplinary clinical team; and
- collaborative multidisciplinary clinical team founded on a nursing backbone (MCH Nurses, registered nurses, registered midwives, enrolled nurses), complemented by allied health such as social workers and psychologists and other specialist staff such as Aboriginal heath care workers and General Practitioners.
The service will provide flexible targeted services including group sessions, day stay, 4-night stay program, outreach and telehealth targeted to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals.
As a MCHN, you will oversee and deliver high quality person-centred care, assessment and education to families in the Grampians region based on the EPC’s model of care and be available to provide advice to staff and families. MCH nurses bring foundational knowledge and skills to the design and delivery of clinical programs that improve the parent-child relationship and support mothers, fathers, parents, carers and families to achieve their parenting goals. You will work as part of a nurse led multidisciplinary team and with external organisations to support best outcomes for mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children from birth up to four years of age. You will promote maternal health and wellbeing, optimal family functioning, and promote optimal health, wellbeing and development of infants and children. You will identify and provide early intervention strategies on factors which impede optimal health, wellbeing and development of children and their families.
The MCHN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based patient centred care. As part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team, the MCHN will work across all GEPC parenting programs as required, these include day stay, home stay and outreach programs. They may be required to perform an in-charge role in the absence of a ANUM/AMUM.
The position has a strong focus on family/patient centred care and the MCHN will demonstrate this value along with an ability to work within our organisational values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide MCH nursing care to admitted families and implement the EPC model of care
- Pay an active role in the day-to-day implementation of the EPC model of care
- Actively participate in opportunities for further development and learning around early parenting practices
- Work as part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team to support parents to achieve their parenting goals
- Maintain an understanding of parenting challenges and promoting prevention, early intervention and help-seeking opportunities
- Recognise and promote factors that contribute to connection to culture and community diversity, and promote self-determination in decision-making
- Make clinical decisions based on advanced knowledge and experience in the area of early maternal health and wellbeing, child health, wellbeing and development and optimal family functioning. Make comprehensive assessment of mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and of the health, wellbeing and development of their children
Skills and experience
Essential
- Hold a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a:
- Registered Nurse; and
- Registered Midwife; and
- Additionally, hold an accredited post graduate diploma (or equivalent) in child and family health.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in early child health and development
- Demonstrated ability to strengthen client capacity to reach their goals
- Ability to work a rotating roster consisting of days and nights

About the role
As a member of the Psychology team you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, gaining experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
As a Grade 3 Psychologist you will have experience and knowledge in the relevant branch of your profession. This position is primarily allocated to the Queen Elizabeth Centre. Primary job requirements involve the provision of clinical neuropsychology services in the area of your specialisation at Grampians Health.
You will also support the senior staff to enhance team building and excellence within the team and Allied Health.
As a Grade 3 Psychologist you may be expected to work in various locations and programs within Grampians Health and regional /external services, including but not limited to CDAMS, CRC, Inpatient Rehab and acute medical surgical inpatient services.

As a Registered Nurse you will oversee and deliver high quality person-centred care, assessment and education to families in the Grampians region based on the EPC’s model of care. You will work as part of a nurse led multidisciplinary team and with external organisations to support best outcomes for children and families. Within your scope of practice, you will support the MCH nurse or midwife to promote optimal health and wellbeing for mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and the health, wellbeing and development of their children up to four years of age. You will identify and provide early intervention on factors which impede optimal health, wellbeing and development of children and their families.
The RN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based patient centred care. As part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team, the RN will work across all GEPC parenting programs as required, these include day stay, home stay and outreach programs. They may be required to perform an in-charge role in the absence of an RN Associate Nurse Unit Manager.
The position has a strong focus on family/ patient centred care and the RN will demonstrate this value along with an ability to work within our organisational values.

About the Role The Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer (AHLO) is responsible for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) patients who are dealing with health-related issues across the acute/sub-acute/community and Mental Health settings at Grampians Health. About the Role Grampians Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker for the role of Grade 2 Intake Counsellor/Advocate at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault. This is a permanent full time role working 80 hours per fortnight with a monthly ADO.
Primary clinical responsibilities include participating as a member of the CASA intake team in taking referrals, intake assessments, advocacy, safety planning and brief intervention counselling to people who have experienced sexual assault and their family members. This role also entails participation in the CASA after-hours roster.
Sound knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments, well developed communication skills and the ability to work well in the pursuit of client and team needs and goals are required. Experience in working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family violence would be a highly regarded attribute.

About the role
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated clinical pharmacists with hospital experience for this permanent Senior Pharmacist (Team Lead) role for Surgical Services. This position is a permanent position allocated to the acute site at Grampians Health (GH) Ballarat.
The position is primarily responsible for delivery of care, leadership, coordination, day-to-day management and provision of oversight to all functions relating to the provision of clinical pharmacy services by the Surgical Services Clinical Pharmacy Team at Grampians Health Ballarat. In addition, this role will be responsible for planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of a clinical pharmacy service to the Perioperative and Day Procedure Unit (PDPU) and Surgical Preadmission Clinics (PAC).
Professional development is supported through regular in-service education including journal club meetings and support for seminar/conference attendance is available.
Remuneration will be award-based according to experience.
Key responsibilities include active contribution to:
- Operational management and leadership for the Surgical Services Clinical Pharmacy team including leadership within Pharmacy Services as a key member of the Clinical Pharmacy Team

About the Role Join our General Medicine department and take up a key role in our home-based care programme. Grampians Health's BHS at Home programme is bolstered by a team of four physicians overseeing the care of complex medical, surgical, and obstetric patients eligible for home-based treatment. Paediatricians and geriatricians respectively support additional streams for paediatrics and aged care. Our goal is to increase admissions to At Home services, aiming for over 10% of inpatients, to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Grampians Health offers a diverse range of general and specialised internal medicine services across seven medical units, managing over 120 patients daily. Supported by local and metropolitan trainees in General Medicine, these units cover rheumatology, endocrinology, neurology, and more. Subspecialties such as cardiology, oncology, and respiratory provide weekday and on-call services with trainee support.
Additionally, Grampians Health provides comprehensive sub-acute care, including geriatrics, rehabilitation, and palliative care, supporting both acute campuses and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities You will provide your clinical expertise in managing General Medical Services, with a primary focus on home-based care through our BHS at Home programme. The BHS at Home programme is supported by a total of 4 physicians who supervise the management of complex medical, surgical and obstetric patients who are suitable for home-based care.

About the role
Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (Division 1) as Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of Day Oncology, within the Ballarat Regional Integrated cancer Centre (BRICC). As the successful candidate, you will be an oncology and cancer services nursing expert. You will be proficient in your capacity to provide management, leadership and clinical expertise to nursing and support staff in the day oncology unit in BRICC and broader Grampians Health cancer services team
The BRICC is located in the Grampians Health Ballarat campus. The BRICC is the principal referral site for cancer patients in the region, which extends from Bacchus Marsh on the outskirts of Melbourne, to the South Australian border, an area of 48,000 square kilometres.
As the successful candidate, you have direct responsibility and accountability for the daily operations and management of the day oncology unit. You will display high-level leadership and communication skills as you promote multidisciplinary engagement and team building in a highly focused and technical treatment zone. You will join the oncology services leadership team within BRICC and the broader Grampians Health oncology network. You will also join the Nursing leadership group of Grampians Health. As the successful candidate, will provide leadership and guidance in our goal to achieve the strategic vision of Grampians health cancer services.
As the successful applicant you will be an outstanding leader and clinician. You will demonstrate an exceptional track record as an oncology registered nurse. You are a confident communicator, possess and provide high-level knowledge of oncology services where evidence based clinical approaches are fundamental to the delivery of services. You will be an advocate for multidisciplinary care, and an active leader and contributor to the team approach across allied health services provided within cancer services. You will have a strong understanding of oncology systems and oncology strategy, particularly how services are applied in regional locations.
The day oncology unit within BRICC consists of 19 points of care including 16 chairs and 3 treatment rooms. You will lead a team of approximately 15 registered nurses and administrative support staff. This includes our recently developed Oncology Nurse Practitioner service and vibrant SURC service. There is a large team of medical oncology and haematology specialist’s including a significant oncology junior medical workforce unit.
We work closely with the Radiation Oncology Unit (BAROC), Palliative Care (Gandarra), oncology inpatient services (ward 4 south) and the onsite satellite pharmacy. The oncology unit meets with all clinical units at GH, with regular tumour stream specific multidisciplinary meetings, and has strong ties with metro tertiary hospitals and Melbourne and Deakin Universities. Overall, the oncology and medical teams at Grampians health are connected, cohesive and committed. The successful candidate will contribute strongly to our successful culture.
Cancer Services at Grampians Health is a multi-site and multi-modality oncology service. Our Network of services extends from Ballarat to Stawell, Horsham and Edenhope, and we provide outreach services also to Maryborough. Our clinical service showcases state-of-the-art radiotherapy and chemotherapy, comprehensive allied health and supportive care, research and clinical trials to a vibrant Wellness Centre offering a full suite of complementary therapies.

About the role Grampians Health will deliver a day stay and residential (home stay) service in a new purpose-built Early Parenting Centre in Lucas, Ballarat Victoria.
EPCs are dedicated facilities to support mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children up to four years of age. EPCs deliver a suite of core services through a nurse-led multidisciplinary care team.
High quality and safe EPC service delivery is best achieved through a workforce built on a:
- Strong nursing leadership team, including Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses, that provides leadership and clinical oversight and support for the multidisciplinary clinical team; and
- Collaborative multidisciplinary clinical team founded on a nursing backbone (MCH Nurses, registered nurses, registered midwives, enrolled nurses), complemented by allied health such as social workers and psychologists and other specialist staff such as Aboriginal heath care workers and General Practitioners.
The service will provide flexible targeted services including group sessions, day stay, 4-night stay program, outreach and telehealth targeted to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals.

About the role
Grampians Health deliver a day stay and residential (home stay) service in a new purpose-built Early Parenting Centre in Lucas, Victoria. EPCs are dedicated facilities to support mothers, fathers, parents, carers, families and their children up to four years of age. EPCs deliver a suite of core services through a nurse-led multidisciplinary care team.
High quality and safe EPC service delivery is best achieved through a workforce built on a:
- Strong nursing leadership team, including Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses, that provides leadership and clinical oversight and support for the multidisciplinary clinical team; and
- Collaborative multidisciplinary clinical team founded on a nursing backbone (MCH Nurses, registered nurses, registered midwives, enrolled nurses), complemented by allied health such as social workers and psychologists and other specialist staff such as Aboriginal heath care workers and General Practitioners.
The service will provide flexible targeted services including group sessions, day stay, 4-night stay program, outreach and telehealth targeted to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals.
Skills and experience
- Provide an expert person-centred consultancy practice and leadership participating in direct patient care provision
- Ability to work a rotating roster across the EPC consisting of days and nights when demand requires

About the role

This role involves the provision of high quality pharmacy services on a rotational basis including the opportunity to undertake advance scope of practice programs. Commencing in our oncology services team, rotations to other areas of the pharmacy department will occur. Professional development is supported through regular in-service education including journal club meetings and support for seminar/conference attendance. Grampians Health Stawell has one operating theatre that is utilised Monday to Friday, with no on call requirements.
We provide a wide range of surgical services by our visiting surgeons including general, gynaecological, orthopaedic, endoscopy, ENT and ophthalmology.
We are supported by a dedicated Education team, Infection Control Manager and Regional Support Networks.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified instrument technician
- Knowledge of all aspects of sterilising services and the requirements of AS/NZ4187 and GENCA guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge and commitment towards quality improvement activities and participate actively in departmental accreditation processes.
- Demonstrate high level of verbal, written and intrapersonal communication skills
- Basic Computer skills

About the role
The North Adult Community Mental Health team deliver a timely and consistent service to consumers/families/carers requiring mental health support. Adult Community Mental Health Clinician is required to facilitate urgent assessments and supports to clients in a range of settings.
Community clinicians are required to work a rostered function covering weekends to facilitate urgent assessments and support to clients in their own homes, ED, medical wards and clients from youth and aged services. The duty function includes assessments over the telephone and medication management/support.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide evidence based and best practice clinical assessments
- Attend Mental Health Tribunals and ensure consumers rights are met under the Mental Health Act 2022.
- Coordinate crisis assessments and admissions to mental health inpatients unit.
- Monitor physical health conditions and promote physical wellbeing.
- Monitor efficacy of medication.
- Develop recovery plans in collaboration with consumers, families and carers.
Skills and experience
You will have:
- Recent clinical experience in a range of mental health settings, including inpatient/community mental health.
- Well-developed mental health assessment skills
- Good knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2022 and other relevant legislation
- Good knowledge of the recovery model and how this informs engagement with consumers
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond to crisis situations.

The practice provides a wide range of general practice services as well as servicing 2 local nursing homes. Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee (RACP accredited) Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICCC) Grampians Health, Ballarat Fixed Term – Full Time (12-month contract)
About the role Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the position of a second Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee at Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre for 2024. This 12-month RACP-accredited training position will commence in February 2024. The successful candidate will gain a valuable and rewarding clinical experience in medical oncology at a regional cancer centre.
Our service currently employs five full-time medical oncologists, six visiting medical oncologists and four visiting haematologists. Our junior team consists of one medical oncology fellow, one oncology advanced trainee registrar, two basic physician trainee (BPT) medical registrars, and three Hospital Medical Officers (HMO). Of these, one BPT and one HMO position support haematology inpatient and outpatient services. All unit members participate in the after-hours roster. The two advanced trainees will participate in a roster to support outpatient clinics, oncology ward and inpatient consultative services, after-hours on-call and weekend rosters. The advanced trainee will also provide services to an outreach service and will have an excellent opportunity to gain experience in managing a wide array of oncology conditions in the rural-regional setting with one-to-one interaction with a supervising consultant. It is a fantastic opportunity to oversee the inpatient unit, providing teaching and guidance, all overseen by a cadre of senior and very supportive consultants.
In addition to the weekly journal club, the trainees will benefit from weekly teaching sessions by the consultant staff and protected time to attend the VMOTG Friday teaching sessions. The oncology unit at Ballarat works closely with all the clinical teams at Grampians Health, with regular Breast, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Urological, Thoracic, Neuro-oncology and Head and Neck multidisciplinary team meetings. We also have fortnightly oncology-radiology and oncology-pathology meetings. We have an excellent and dynamic clinical trial unit; the trainee will have an excellent opportunity to learn about various aspects of clinical trials. The trainee will also have full support to conduct or participate in a research project. There will be an opportunity to participate in the national and international oncology conferences.
We work closely with the radiation oncology unit (BAROC) and the palliative care team with an outstanding inpatient palliative care facility, “Gandarra”, situated nearby. A significant proportion of cancer care west of Melbourne utilizes our service, with a catchment population of over 350,000. We have a close affiliation with the Medical Oncology and Haematology Units at the Austin Hospital. We also provide teaching to medical students from both Melbourne and Deakin Universities.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide supervised outpatient services to Medical Oncology patients
- Contribute to enhancing the development of the Medical Oncology service
- Assist with the training and development of medical students and basic physician trainees
- Manage the inpatient ward with support of the junior team and with medical oncologist oversight
- Participate in the overnight and weekend on call roster
- Participate in combined and specialty multidisciplinary meetings held within the unit
Skills and experience
You will have:
- Registration as a legally qualified medical practitioner with Medical Board of Australia.
- Eligibility for registration with the RACP for Advanced Physician Training.
- Detailed knowledge of the investigation and management of acute and chronic general medical conditions.
- Understanding of the professional roles of the broad health care team
- Understanding of the impact of illness on a patient’s life.
- Demonstrated patient management, technical and physical examination skills.

About the role
This is a fixed term full time maternity leave replacement position. The role will involve assisting in the provision of unit based clinical pharmacy services on a rotational basis including the opportunity to undertake credentialing for Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting (PPMC) and pharmacist initiated NRT for inpatients. Possible rotations to operational services including dispensary, manufacturing services and Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) may occur.
Professional development is supported through regular in-service education including journal club meetings and support for seminar/conference attendance. In addition, professional support is provided through team-based structures as well as formal education programs including the SHPA Foundation Residency Program.
Remuneration will be award-based according to experience.

The mental health clinician provides comprehensive and proficient bio-psycho-social clinical assessments and treatments to youth and their families that are evidence-based and/or best practice to enhance the young person’s recovery from mental disorder.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, identify and prioritise patient and family needs and/or referral options.

About the role The position will include rotations in Acute Inpatients, Rehabilitation, and Outpatients. The Physiotherapy Department provides regular mentoring to new graduates, an Allied Health Early Careers Program, plus generous financial support for ongoing professional development. The successful applicant can also access four weeks free accommodation onsite (subject to availability).
We are offering a bursary agreement to a Physiotherapy student who is in their final year of studies. The bursary agreement provides financial support amounting to a total of $3,500, to reimburse for costs associated with study (e.g. course fees, laptop, textbooks, etc). The approved bursary position will be eligible for a 1 year contract full time contract position at Grampians Health – Horsham Campus, as a Grade 1 Physiotherapist commencing in January 2024. Following completion of the one year contract, there is potential for transition to a permanent role.

About the role
Applications are invited from experienced administrative workers to join our professional team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide cover for personal / annual leave for current roles and can include working individual shifts and week blocks. Shifts can include 24 hours, 7 day per week, including public holidays, across numerous departments. The Reception/ Administration Assistant will perform day-to-day administrative duties and requires a strong focus on customer service skills including a pleasant welcoming manner and the ability to relate appropriately to a broad range of people.

Clinicians use a recovery framework, focusing on a strengths-based approach.
Senior community clinicians are required to work a rostered function covering weekends to facilitate urgent assessments and support to clients in their own homes, ED, medical wards and clients from youth and aged services. The duty function includes assessments over the telephone and medication management/support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence based and best practice clinical assessments, identify and prioritise clients’ needs and develop risk management plans.
- Attend Mental Health Tribunals and ensure consumers rights are met under the Mental Health Act 2022.
- Co-ordinate crisis assessments and admissions to mental health inpatients unit.
- Monitor physical health conditions and promote physical wellbeing.
- Monitor efficacy of medication
- Develop recovery plans in collaboration with consumers, families and carers, prioritise and action areas identified.
- Support clinicians, providing education and clinical supervision.
- Act as team leader in their absence.
Skills and experience
- Clinical experience in a range of mental health settings, including inpatient/community mental health.
- Well-developed mental health assessment skills
- Good knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2022 and other relevant legislation
- Good knowledge of the recovery model and how this informs engagement with consumers.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond to crisis situations.

Grampians Health Ballarat Campus recruitment for the 2024 clinical year is currently underway for the Emergency Department (ED). These positions have been redesigned to better provide a clear pathway either into Emergency training, or the GP training program for our region.
The department helps in gaining the Diploma and/or the Certificate in Emergency Medicine. Grampians Health ED is currently accredited for 12 months training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and is undertaking the process of reviewing to extend this to 18 months.
We are seeking dynamic candidates to join the team in an increasingly busy department. The department sees over 60,000 patients per year with approximately 25% paediatric presentation rate and a growing admission rate of 24-25%. A 12 bed Short Stay Unit is also managed by ED. The department has a culture of supervision and support for junior medical staff. This includes proactive training for HMO and Registrar groups, protected weekly training sessions, multi-disciplinary M&M and a responsive positive feedback program.
We are looking for doctors who have a team focus, exceptional communication skills and a desire to learn emergency medicine skills in a regional setting. The department places a high priority on patient centred care and a supportive team environment. Candidates will ideally have registration with ACEM and/or a strong interest in Emergency Medicine. At minimum, candidates will be required to have General Registration with APRHA.
